What we promise
Every date in a cohort is published before registration opens. Every scoring criterion and its weight is published before you apply. Three jurors score each submission independently, without seeing each other's marks, and without being told which track a submission came from or what the applicant paid.
What we do not promise
We do not promise a grant. Grants are awarded at the final pitch stage on the published rubric, at the jury's decision. Paying the programme fee does not entitle anyone to a grant, a shortlisting, or any particular score. We do not promise investor introductions, government approvals, or that a company registered with our help will be approved by any registrar.
Grants
Three grants are awarded per cohort: ₹5,00,000, ₹3,00,000 and ₹1,00,000. They are non-dilutive: we take no equity, no revenue share and no board seat. Grants are paid to a registered company bank account, never to an individual. Disbursal takes up to three months from the results date. Taxes apply as per Indian law and any deduction at source is made as required.
Who runs this
BharatStartupGrant is privately and independently funded. It is not a government scheme. Jurors are named on each cohort page after results are declared. A juror who knows an applicant is required to recuse themselves, and the system records the recusal.
